WHAT IS THE VALLEY VOICE?
The Valley Voice is a free, monthly newsletter which is printed in full colour, and distributed to local businesses and waiting areas throughout the Elk Valley in B.C, Canada. You can read the latest issue online too!
The Valley Voice is unapologetically local. We’re printed, free, and designed to be picked up, flipped through, and shared the old-fashioned way.
We focus on real businesses, real people, and real stories from our own backyard. No algorithms, no disappearing posts. Just meaningful exposure that lives on coffee tables, counters and community spaces.
Simply put, The Valley Voice was created by someone who lives here, loves it here, and wants to see local businesses thrive here.

MEET THE FACE BEHIND THE PUBLICATION
AMY CARDOZO
Hi, I’m Amy – the founder of The Valley Voice. I’ve always loved small towns and the way people show up for each other, especially when it comes to supporting local businesses. I know how much heart goes into running something local because I’ve done it myself.
Back in 2012, I started the Sparwood Market to give local makers and small businesses a place to connect with the community. The Valley Voice comes from that same place – a belief that when we share stories, support each other, and keep things local, our towns are better for it.
At the end of the day, I care about connection. I care about people knowing the faces behind local businesses and about small towns staying vibrant, busy, and supported. The Valley Voice is my way of helping people discover what’s right in front of them – the businesses, organizations, and stories that make our communities feel like home ❤️
